LoT [Titans Forum] is 20 Years Old!

Yep been here since close to the beginning. I haven’t been active for a number of years, but have been reading the posts from time to time. Life just gets in the way 😉.

At one point in time I spent countless hours writing custom code and built our own tipping comp, MoeJoe award 3-2-1 voting, player profiles and a few other bits and pieces.

As Diehard mentioned, I stepped in and helped keep the forum afloat during the dark days. When the delete the whole thing nearly happened, Diehard was in discussions about separation from being the Official Titans forum (a mutual agreement for the better).

Things just didn’t feel right, so
I started backing up the database every few days. Long story short, they shut the offical titans forum down and we were up and running as the League of Titans with in a day.

A few legal threats later around intellectual property and here we are.

While I brought some technical expertise, this place would not be alive without the efforts and willingness to dig into the back pocket as Diehard, the guys is a legend.
 
Great things are often built out of adversity and DH’s unwavering belief in the necessity of the Titans’ community having a truly independent voice should be an inspiration for us all.

Without embarrassing a very humble man, I hope we all recognise, that apart from having to deal the lot (see what I did there) of us, he juggles a young family and a challenging work load, often from afar.

Love your work, DH, and looking forward to the next 20.
 
I do remember the "concious uncoupling" from the official site years ago. I can't remember why the club had a meltdown and tried to sink the whole thing though. Anyone able to jog my memory?

Also I can only imagine how pissed the owners of the club at the time must have been that their deceitful attempts to delete the database on the sly were thwarted by your sharp thinking!
 
Echo the thoughts for Diehard, and as Titanic said cant wait for the next 20 :), been a battle alright but got through and I would hate to think what would I do without the forum

It's an immense milestone which helped create the first foundations of our fanbase. It was a very exciting time and there was so much to chat about.

The event also leads into our club's 20th birthday in 2027. And we HAVE to be firing on all cylinders.

So, to celebrate let's have a year long+ celebration. Let's work together to make this club that we believe in strong.

Over the years, the forum has been the breeding ground for many great ideas. Let's make it happen again.

I have one great idea that I will post about here tonight. (I just need to head home from work). You are gonna love it. And everyone can participate.

Happy birthday and thanks to you all, you make my life a lot more enjoyable.

Bit late here but big thanks Brad, have very fond memories of Carrara, the legion and everything LoT. You’ve kept this community going all this time, well done mate - very special and something to be proud of.
