Well done Bohdi, thought he's looked very good when he's been out there.

I reckon the turning point for this game though was those two drop balls by Mo. Mo's gotta go.

Ownership change doesn’t give you a higher salary cap or suddenly give you access to better players. Sure, a new owner might invest more in certain support areas, but as Des said last year and Josh earlier this season that the facilities and resources are above many NRL clubs.

So again, what specifically are the current owners failing to provide that a new owner would provide and that would translate into better results on the field?

I'm not boots on the ground on a daily basis but it is obvious, just purely based off results over a decade sample size they don't have what it takes to build a winning football club.

Something is clearly lacking in the attitude and application of the club.

By all means if they want to pay my consultancy fees I'll work it out for them haha.

Changing ownership without identifying what they’re actually doing wrong isn’t a solution.

Im fine leaving the owners out of it. But as I touched on already in the signings thread, at any other club with a record as bad as our,s, and those who've hit rock bottom already, positions from board members to CEOs have been held accountable. Not ours.
 
Mo needs a break. Today apart from missed tackles, his lazy efforts in 6 agains, stupid passing and those 2 horrendous unforced errors, he is just a morale buster.

I feel like using Mo’s bad deal to justify the sacking of the CEO is a bit of a reach when there’s an entire football department there (which got overturned mind you)

He also hired Hannay. Who if I’m not mistaken most of us are praising

Yes I'm using that one signing to justify sacking the CEO.

Not his past 8 years of 3 different coaches, making finals once, losing Burleigh and letting the football department become the dumpster fire it was, (and don't even get me started on the Ezra Howe debacle). No not at all any of that.
 
Moe was also a 22/23 year old prop on the up after a down year which most have in a position that is hard to pick up anyone competent, He got that deal because he was a very wanted commodity as a young prop....Had issues but also been the best prop for QLD in a series at 21, Sucked at 22 and came on hard in 23, The club should've been more onto it but a 2027 deal at that level isn't anywhere near bad despite how we think of Moe.

He wasn't some random bum the club gave money.. 7 clubs were after him for a similar deal. His form fell away but that's not a call on anyone when the deals where there.

Let's not act like it was some diabolical deal hahahaha.. When I'm seeing let's get 4/5 players for AJ and Moe alll I see is replacing them mostly with decent ones and not spending way to much in dumb positions, Good NRL players cost basically at a min 3/400k, A good middle or second rower is getting 600k at least from a starting point and that's lucky.. People wanting all this talent with 2 people on 2m is not it, It's all to make the squad deeper.

Goood luck finding good NRL players at 2nd row for less then 500k at least or whatever positions are wanted, Middles cost 3/400k for the lower good young one coming through who have barely played.

We'll hopefully replace Moe with a good middle who can tackle but it will be the same price, Maybe a good back up coming through, You'd be firing 85% the comp though if that's how judging talent worked.

Yeah, I’m reading a lot of football department stuff. Which we’ve been over endlessly. Blaming him for Burleigh is just incorrect and I’m fortunate to know enough about that situation to be able to say that with confidence. I get you associate every single NRL level failure with the CEO but I’m just offering that his performance and how it is measured might be more nuanced than that from an organisational view.

Steve’s also largely the reason we have a junior base and pathways setup that has allowed us to sign and bring through the kids that we do. He’s also a large part of the reason our womens program is arguably the most successful pathways program in the country. Hiring Hannay seems to be well received on here but picking and choosing when to associate the CEO’s involvement isn’t really a fair or balanced assessment IMO.

Okay but clearly something at the club is broken and this has been proven over an extended period of time. Agree?

The only things that haven't changed much in that time are executive leadership and majority ownership.

Do we chalk the last 10 years down to bad luck/variance? I don't think it is possible to be unlucky for such a length of time.

Do we just she'll be right mate it instead?

I don't claim to have all the answers but the data and results seem to point to Bec and Steve not being part of the solution either.

I'm not silly enough to be hoodwinked by them firing another coach and putting out some preseason fluff pieces to pay money to watch this crap, so I'll continue to boycott until heads roll or we start winning consistently.

I'll take the kids to some NBL games or whatever instead in the mean time because these guys don't deserve my hard earned.
