Tone deaf as well as hopeless. But apparently we should just blame the fact we have the same salary cap as the other teams for our lack of success.

Exactly and the real problem is the idiots that agreed to making him a 900k prop. That and other non performing highly paid players is the cause of most of our problems in my opinion.
The owners didn't do that other than put the wrong person in the position that negotiated that.

Not giving Kini a free pass, however when a prop gets one on one with a fullback from a play the ball a few metres out from the line, then that is major defensive system breakdown.

The Burleigh stuff for sure had nothing to do with Steve M hahaha, There's a reason the club is back in cohorts sending all the girls to Bears and a lot of juniors.
 
Nobody wins this debate. To me it’s completely unfathomable how some of our numbnutz keep getting selected let alone contract upgrades. Similarly it’s unfathomable how no responsibility has been admitted by neither the Chair nor CEO of the Club.

I don’t blame the owners at all because I’m sure they’re peeved too and their investment is significantly more than mine. For sure they aren’t deliberately trying to p!ss us off.

My only explanation, which is no consolation for the frustration watching these farknuckles, is that the best players are either unavailable and/or they don’t want to play for us.
 
Maybe the fellas just suck and it's a **** squad like Hannay said and needs to get experience into certain players and it's a very young squad.

Idk the team absoloutely sucks but it takes time to fix that, Expecting 100% every week is wild. Anyone who gets mentioned as a recruit is apparently a bum and not preferred... .But when I see our backs I do wonder what a flop is..

They had a really good crack trying their asses off during a year as a young team \with vets letting them down a lot of the year and picking up now like Fermor and Tino, Idk maybe I don't see it as deep as everyone else and realize we won't be contending or doing much next year either.

The only things that haven't changed much in that time are executive leadership and majority ownership.

Do we chalk the last 10 years down to bad luck/variance? I don't think it is possible to be unlucky for such a length of time.

I don't claim to have all the answers but the data and results seem to point to Bec and Steve not being part of the solution either.

I'm not silly enough to be hoodwinked by them firing another coach and putting out some preseason fluff pieces to pay money to watch this crap, so I'll continue to boycott until heads roll or we start winning consistently.

I'll take the kids to some NBL games or whatever instead in the mean time because these guys don't deserve my hard earned.

The owners should be accountable for the people they appoint, no argument. And perhaps they have been too slow to make changes. But we are seeing positive change away from the field.

But this isn’t an underfunded club with poor facilities and no resources. The problem has been how those resources have been used and the football decisions being made.

What we have lacked is enough quality football decision making to turn that investment into results

I thought both Mal and Des appointments made sense at the time.
I backed both. Hindsight tells us differently.

I would rather fix and invest in off field football brains than change the owners.

That’s all we can do at this stage is live in hope that it turns around. I feel this is our best chance. Blame lies at all levels with mistakes being made from the board to CEO but the current Hannay/ Steve regime I’ll give a crack to make it right. If we stuff these next few years that will do me as a fan

Could see it when we had three middles clinging onto Hiroti trying to bring him down and still couldn’t win the tackle
 
The new owners deserve some time.

Idk... They've been getting kids from down south for the first time and a bunch of other stuff in juniors. Won't that take a fair of time to show? I'd be stoked if I'ma playmaker in a groupchat with Joey and Matty and other stuff that seems to be working. Forwards with Gordie and all the other info that is available that gets out there, Takes time though.

There's heaps of stuff that has been done this year alone and serious talent that will come through.

I'll go a red hot take, Our owners are ambitious and do take shots even before the new group came in, Maybe wrong but there have never beenn rumors of non spending in fact the opposite I've heard, The wrong players yes but they've made a real point from what I've seen to spend legit money despite it maybe going the wrong ways.

Holding onto Ezra Howe to long was the worst choice and having someone in juniors for years who set it up but probably had no idea about real talent ID.

Hiroti went well and although no world beater, will improve the squad.

Young Bodhi did well in his first game. He certainly likes the collision which is a positive and will get bigger (and needs to ) as he matures.

I thought Tino had his best game for a while but he really lacks a big front row partner enforcer to help shoulder the load. Moe was very poor today

Could you expand on this? Are we back working working with the bears even though theyre signed with the broncos?
 
I think at one stage there before we played an acceptable last 10 mins we had 33% possession 6/8 completion and 30 missed tackles for just the second half. Don’t care who you have that **** will not fly in first grade. Pathetic

I never like the Meninga role but agree I thought Hasler would be a good appointment.

Funnily enough I feel this season has a lot of similarities with the first year of Hasler.

Awful start, steadying of the ship mid season with some positive signs, then absolute shite to finish the year.

Don't know a heap but there were chats last year and everything is on much better terms and on a wait and see, Both clubs are basically waiting on the Cup team ruling and why there was a big blow up a few months ago, There's a lot to play out potentially.

The interesting relationship is more Tweed, Titans didn't send any of the NRLW talent and moved them away which was needed. Considering where Jets were at when the relationship started and where they are now and Tweed...
