I would overpay on a right 2RF to give Zane a bodyguard. We still need to recruit strategically, just for value buys that will amplify the potential superstars in our current squad/pathways. Let Perth and PNG throw the big $$ around at the superstars.

Wilton was seen as Fermor in Sharks fans mind till last year nd they are still happy to let him go for 700k, Couldn't catch **** and had errors but has figured it out... He's fine... Don't think he's anywhere near a player made out to try to get for 7/800k or when the market is going wild, The club has backed Arama and Beau till 28 and kids coming through who are fine.

The club isn't going to spend more then a 7/800k on anyone outside these days. Spending more in a position due to screwing up is what they are avoiding, Thats why Aj and others will go.

One or both of Arama and Beau can be benchies

It's interesting watching how Hollbrook has the knights playing the style of attacking footy that he wanted to implement here...but for some reason we couldn't achieve it. He turned them around quickly!

I listened to Peter O’ Sullivan on a podcast about Roster Management.
He recommended 5-8 players off contract each year so you can change the squad depending on your needs / priorities.

I get the feeling mid players will be a premium over the next few years

I agree. But the knights got the spoon last year. Their turn around has been quite good. Hollbrook has been a very good acquisition to their club.

We sat in spoon position for 13 rounds last year.

How good are the dolphins going?? Fair dinkum. Only 4 years old. Surrounded a couple of hard heads with some young talent in the beginning...backed by a serious pathways system. It's not rocket science I guess.

The club isn't going to spend 800k or so more in spots just because they aren't getting what they want right now and how they got in huge problems, Arama and Beau are seen as the 2nd rowers with cheapies/juniors who hopefully can take a spot or put real pressure on them.

You don't just spend 800k more in a spot because the players you bought aren't what you thought, How you get in cap trouble like we are/were.

Just because we have bums doesn't mean our cap is OK and free to spend, How do we pay Ollie or Zane or others like Jojo if we just spend 800k more to make the 2nd row Ok?

Yes. It's embarrassing that it has become ingrained in our club. Especially when you look at some of the names that have been on our books over the years. A fine example of systemic failure.
